Ms. Bobb has owned and managed the well-respected practice of Patricia C. Bobb and Associates since 1985 after working at Philip H. Corboy & Associates and co-founding the firm of Bobb, Kane, Obbish & Propes. Her practice focuses in representing individuals in serious injury and wrongful death cases with an emphasis on medical malpractice and general civil litigation.
Ms. Bobb has tried more than 100 jury and bench trials in both federal and state courts. Her experience and integrity as a lawyer is confirmed by her selection by both judges and fellow attorneys to act as a mediator in arbitrating more than 50 major medical malpractice cases.
Ms. Bobb serves as a commissioner on the body that monitors attorneys in Illinois, the Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission. She has also served as chairman of the Board of the National Institute of Trial Advocacy and as president of the Chicago Bar Association (1997-'98). Through surveys conducted by Leading Lawyers, her peers have named her number one woman lawyer in Illinois and the number one woman personal injury lawyer in Illinois.
Notable Cases and Results:
- Obtained a $1.7 million recovery for the family of a woman who died after her primary care physician failed to diagnose her pneumonia.
- $1.3 million verdict for death of a fireman in a high-rise fire.
- $3.4 million settlement for birth injury to a child as a result of delay in delivery
- $800,000 verdict for death of a women with terminal lung cancer for failure of paramedics to timely treat her collapsed lung.
- Settlement valued at $6 million for an 8-year-old girl who suffered brachial plexus injury at birth.
- $1.6 million verdict against the government for suicide death of a man awaiting trial in federal correction facility.
