Shirley A. Kaigler is a partner in the Southfield office of Jaffe Raitt Heuer & Weiss. She is the Practice Group Coordinator of the Firm's Estate Planning/Wealth Planning/Probate Group, specializing in probate and trust administration; estate, tax, retirement and business succession planning; elder law; and health care proxy and special needs issues. Shirley has experience principally in the area of gift, estate and tax planning for all size estates and is able to offer clients a complete package that includes planning for marriage, divorce, retirement, disability and death. Her client base includes business owners, professionals in sole and group practices, corporate executives, educators, retirees and individuals with special needs. Shirley helps clients facilitate wealth preservation and transfer, using strategies that include establishing charitable remainder trusts in the sale of businesses to defer taxes and restructuring real estate, business and investment portfolios into family partnerships or limited liability companies to minimize wealth transfer taxes. Shirley has developed and fostered positive working relationships with major financial institutions in order to coordinate and implement a client's tax, estate or financial plan.

Shirley is a frequent speaker on topics such as elder law, special needs planning, and estate planning and probate.
