Practice Description:  
Ms. Jackson's practice focuses on business litigation with a special emphasis on employment law and litigation matters such as discrimination and retaliation, sexual harassment, whistle blower, trade secrets and non-compete agreements. She advises both corporate and individual clients regarding employment matters. Ms. Jackson also frequently litigates construction, and contractual disputes. She has successfully tried cases to jury verdict in several state and federal courts on matters ranging from employment discrimination to admiralty to the Uniform Commercial Code. She has also successfully arbitrated a wide variety of employment benefit disputes.

  • Summary Judgment on behalf of the employer in a pregnancy discrimination and FMLA interference case in the United States District Court in the Eastern District of Michigan (2012) affirmed by the Sixth Circuit on appeal (2013)

  • Injunction on behalf of Employer for violation of a Covenant Not to Compete (2012)

  • Summary Disposition on behalf of the employer in a multi-plaintiff whistle blower lawsuit in the Washtenaw County Circuit Court, affirmed by the Michigan Court of Appeals (2011)

  • Injunction defeated on behalf of the corporation in minority shareholder oppression action (2011)

  • Favorable settlement on behalf of the employer in an ADA lawsuit while hearing on a motion for summary judgment was pending (2011)

  • Settlement of $2.2 million on behalf of a client after three days of trial in a commercial lease dispute (2011)

  • Jury verdict in the amount of $11.9 million for a client in a legal malpractice action (2005)
