Practice Description:  
Mr. Rippie advises clients on gas and electric issues and represents industry clients before regulatory agencies including state public utility commissions and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, and state and federal courts.Mr. Rippie's practice focuses on complex transactional, operational, and regulatory matters, and ranges from strategic counseling to trial work. Representative engagements involve representing electric and gas industry clients on matters including: corporate and operational restructuring; the purchase and sale of business units and assets; rate matters, including acting as lead counsel in five recent contested general delivery and supply rate proceedings; and advising and representing clients before courts and regulatory bodies with regard to planning, designing, permitting, and building new energy facilities.

Mr. Rippie also represents clients on a variety of projects infused with technical and operational issues, including interconnections; station and backup power; wholesale and retail energy sales; transmission and distribution planning, operation, and reliability; and rates and regulation of regional transmission organizations.
