Practice Description:  
Mr. Cunningham has practiced in the casualty defense field for more than 30 years, most recently concentrating in the area of medical malpractice defense. He has tried more than 100 cases to verdict, before a jury, in almost all areas of negligence, including automobile, premises liability, products liability, construction-related litigation and professional liability. Mr. Cunningham has been appointed as Special Assistant State's Attorney for DuPage County and selected to serve as a mediator by the Circuit Court of the Eighteenth Judicial Circuit, DuPage County and the Circuit Court of the Sixteenth Judicial Circuit, Kane County. He is also a mediator in the Rush Presbyterian St. Luke's Mediation Program. He has been a lecturer for the DuPage and Kane County Bar Associations and the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education. He has lectured to numerous medical groups and hospitals on risk-management issues. He co-authored a chapter in the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education's Medical Malpractice Handbook, dealing with the physician-patient privilege in Illinois. Mr. Cunningham has also been a contributing author to the Physician's Litigation Handbook and updates of that handbook for Ophthalmic Mutual Insurance Company. He recently lectured before a group of ophthalmologists at their Ophthalmic Mutual Insurance Company sponsored National Convention. He has been nominated to Marquis' Who's Who in American Law, the U.S. Registry of Who's Who Among American Executives and Oxford's Who's Who. He is a member of the American College of Trial Lawyers and the American Board of Trial Advocates.
