Practice Description:  
Mr. Lestikow is a partner in the Springfield office. He focuses his practice on estate planning, including drafting wills, trusts, family limited partnerships or other devices to carry out client goals in a tax advantaged manner. Litigation of estate and trust administration disputes, for plaintiffs and defendants, has been a growing area of his practice. He represents businesses, many family-owned, including creation of the entity, advice on day-to-day issues including employment discrimination, credit, contracts and management activities, participates in transactions such as asset sales, mergers, acquisitions, loans and dissolutions. He advises on succession plans for closely- and family-held businesses. Litigation of contentious business split-ups and deadlocks has been an increasing area of activity for Mr. Lestikow. He handles real estate matters including loans, tax-free exchanges, purchases, sales, leasing and zoning and has testified as an expert witness on fees of executors and in attorney malpractice cases.

Mr. Lestikow has been elected as a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. He has participated as a faculty member and author on several Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education Programs, including serving as general editor of Estate Planning for Illinois Lawyers: The Basics and Beyond (2001). He gave a presentation on estate planning for agri-businessmen and farmers in 2001. He participated in planning the 45th annual IICLE estate planning short course and was on its faculty on the topic of "EGTRRA 2001 in a Nutshell."
