Practice Description:
Mr. Winkler has been involved in civil litigation since separation from the U.S. Army in 1969. He has tried a variety of cases ranging from a retail occupation tax administrative case to product liability cases on both the defense and plaintiff's behalf in Illinois, Wisconsin, and in federal court. His extensive experience has made him one of the Winnebago County lawyers selected to receive mediation training as a part of an experimental circuit court panel of mediators for major civil litigation in the 17th judicial circuit. He was also selected to train mediators in DuPage, Lake, Kane and Will counties when the principle of mediation was adopted by the Illinois Supreme Court. This led to his selection by the Federal Court for its first mediation panel. Mr. Winkler has also been certified as a mediator by the U.S. Postal Service.

His other major emphasis has been on secured transactions. Besides drafting and litigating questions for secured creditors, he has served as Creditors Committee counsel in bankruptcy court. His law firm has lawyers with years of experience in representing creditors, real estate developers, banks, in all aspects of financing and completing business and real estate business plans.
