Ms. Holzwarth is a partner in the firm Holmstrom & Kennedy, P.C., with over 25 years of experience in handling employment litigation and labor cases, including: discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliatory discharge, and other employee claims; ERISA, COBRA, and FLSA claims; and union representation proceedings, unfair labor practice charges, and grievance arbitration. She has extensive experience in counseling clients in complex employment situations and reductions-in-force; conducting sexual harassment training and investigations, as well as wage and hour audits; and preparing and reviewing employment contracts, employee handbooks, personnel policies, severance arrangements, and covenants not to compete. She is a frequent lecturer on employment matters and is a certified mediator in both the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, Western Division, and the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit, Winnebago and Boone Counties, Illinois. She serves as a board member of the Office of Compliance, an agency that enforces various labor and employment laws within the legislative branch of the United States government.

City of Belvidere v. Illinois State Labor Relations Board , 181 Ill.2d 191 (Ill. 1998); successfully defended claim that the City had a duty to bargain over decision to contract for paramedic services.
Gorski v. Troy , 929 F.2d 1183 (7th Cir. 1991); Fair Housing Act case determining that licensed foster parents are protected from discrimination on the basis of familial status.
Sisters of the Third Order v. SwedishAmerican Group Health Benefit Trust , 901 F.2d 1369 (7th Cir. 1990); ERISA claim for health benefits arising out of drunk driving accident.
