Roger concentrates his practice in the area of healthcare law, representing physicians, hospitals, long term care facilities, and other healthcare organizations on all conceivable issues including licensure, fraud and abuse, corporate compliance, contracting, policies and procedures, staff concerns, and defense of malpractice and other litigation. He has extensive litigation experience and has personally defended more than 500 medical and hospital cases, taking a significant number to verdict. In recent years, Roger has developed a special focus on brain_injured infant cases. Roger is the Chair of the firm's statewide Healthcare Practice Group and regularly appears before the Illinois Department of Professional Registration on behalf of professional clients.

He is a member of the Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel (IDC Quarterly Health Law columnist), the Defense Research Institute, the Illinois Association of Healthcare Attorneys (Secretary/Treasurer, Board Member, Planning Committee, Annual Health Law Symposium), the American Society of Law, Medicine and Ethics, the American Health Lawyers Association, the Illinois Society of Healthcare Risk Management (Board Member and Immediate Past President), and a Master in the American Inns of Court (Past President).
Roger is also a member of the Peoria County Bar Association (Medical_Legal Relations Committee), Illinois State Bar Association (Health Care Section Council), and American Bar Association (Medicine and Law Committee). He is also active with the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education.

Roger authors a quarterly article on Health Law in the Illinois Defense Counsel Journal and is currently co-authoring the chapter on Trials in the Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education's Medical Malpractice Handbook.
Roger has taught masters level courses in healthcare law and is a frequent national speaker on healthcare issues, medical malpractice, and risk prevention to insurers, medical associations, professional groups, and healthcare institutions.
