Mr. Hepler, a managing partner of the firm, is a trial attorney with a primary emphasis in the defense of complex, multi-party civil cases and class actions involving a wide range of subjects, including all aspects of consumer fraud, personal injury, products liability, pharmaceutical, commercial, toxic torts, construction, and insurance litigation. He has handled numerous cases in venues throughout the country; however, his primary area of practice is in the St. Louis Metropolitan area, including Madison and St. Clair Counties in Illinois, which are widely known as active litigation venues.
Mr. Hepler served as lead trial counsel for The Tobacco Institute in numerous lawsuits pending throughout the country. He has been and is currently lead trial counsel in numerous class action cases with national exposure involving many different types of claims, including state consumer fraud claims, product liability claims, pharmaceuticals, insurance, telecommunications, tobacco, environmental, petroleum and petrochemical issues, and practices of various financial institutions. In addition, he is and has been lead trial counsel in construction/product liability litigation involving pre-stress concrete structural failure cases with national significance.
Mr. Hepler has tried numerous jury and non-jury cases to verdict in both the state and federal courts. He is admitted to practice in Illinois and Missouri. He is admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Northern, Central and Southern Districts of Illinois, and the Eastern and Western Districts of Missouri. He is also admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit and the United States Supreme Court.
