Ms. Shapiro has distinguished herself practicing in the field of family law for more than 25 years. She has had extensive experience in all areas of family law litigation, including trials, post-decree matters, appeals, settlement negotiations, premarital and post-nuptial agreements and issues relating to retirement benefits and QDROs. She has handled numerous appeals and has prevailed in the appellate court on numerous occasions. She particularly enjoys handling cases with complex and novel legal issues and doing legal writing and research. In approaching her cases, Ms. Shapiro not only attempts to achieve the most favorable outcome for her clients, but also attempts to be practical and cost-effective, giving consideration to the long-term impact of the litigation on the client's quality of life and on family relationships, particularly when children are involved.
