Mr. Kozak specializes in intellectual property litigation and counseling across a broad spectrum of technologies. He has acted as trial counsel in both jury and bench trials, and is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. He also has considerable experience in both domestic and international negotiations and licensing. His memberships include the Licensing Executive Society (LES), the Association Internationale Pour La Protection De La Propriete Industrialle (AIPPI), the American Bar Association (ABA), The American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA), and the Lawyers Club of Chicago.
Technologies with which Mr. Kozak has been involved include electrical and fiber optic connectors, telephone and facsimile equipment, television, microprocessors, semiconductors, digital numerical controllers, lasers, machine vision, liquid crystal displays, computers, computer software, geophysical surveying equipment, food processing, agricultural chemicals, adhesives, abrasives, pharmaceuticals and immunoassays.

Mr. Kozak was a patent advisor to the Office of Naval Research's Naval Weapon Center prior to joining his present firm in 1969. He became a member of the firm in 1974 and served as chairman of the firm's Management Committee from 1982 to 1991. He has been president of the firm since 2002.
