This is an Illinois Supreme Court case which helped define the limits of home rule municipal authority.
New Trier v. Village of Northfield, 184 Ill.App.3d 367, 132 Ill. Dec. 625, 54 Ed. Law Reporter (1989)
This case defined the right of a village to require a school and/or college to complete the zoning process before challenging a zoning regulation.
Kinter v. Village of Palatine Fire and Police Commissioners, 194 Ill.App.3d 828, 181 Ill. Dec. 457, 608 N.E.2d 530 (1992)
This is an often cited Illinois Appellate case which established the right of a chief of police, upon reasonable suspicion of an officer's drug or alcohol use, to immediately order that a police officer to submit to a drug or alcohol test.
