Practice Description:  
Mr. Bulger has advised and represented employers on all aspects of the employment relationship, including individual and class discrimination litigation, union avoidance, collective bargaining, wrongful termination litigation, and general employment advice, training and counseling.

Mr. Bulger was selected by the National Law Journal as one of the nation's "Best Litigators in Employment Law." He has advised and represented public, private, union and non-union employers on all aspects of the employment relationship for over 25 years. Mr. Bulger has represented a wide variety of companies and agencies in representation and unfair labor practice matters before the NLRB, and he has appeared on behalf of employers at many arbitrations and in collective bargaining negotiations.


Notable Cases and Results:  
Mr. Bulger was lead counsel in the trial and appeals courts for the American Hospital Association's challenge to hospital bargaining unit rules promulgated by the National Labor Relations Board, AHA v. NLRB, (N.D. Ill., 7th Cir. 1991). He has successfully argued precedent-setting cases in areas as diverse as requiring arbitration of disputes, Adamovic v. METME, (7th Cir. 1992), and the extent of the duty to accommodate a disability in a unionized facility, Woodyard v. Hoover Group, (8th Cir. 1992). He has represented the Chicago Bulls in proceedings interpreting the National Basketball Association's collective bargaining agreement salary provisions, In re Dudley (Bridgeman v. NBA) , (D.N.J.). He has successfully challenged NLRB evidentiary procedures in representation hearings, Prairie Tank Southern v. NLRB, (7th Cir. 1983).
